Garden City Hospital Partners with Local Fire Departments
to Provide Fire Training Facility
Garden City, MI – August 17, 2020 Garden City Hospital has partnered with Garden City, Dearborn Heights, Westland, Inkster and Redford Fire Departments to provide available space for fire training. Training will be conducted on Tuesday, August 18 between the hours of 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm at the Officentre East building in front of the hospital’s Medical Office building. The training will not interfere with COVID-19 drive-thru testing.
This field training opportunity comes as an important asset to the community as it allows firefighters to train in areas like fire suppression, search and rescue and automatic aid with other departments. Garden City Hospital’s Officentre East building is not currently occupied and is not planned for occupancy.
“With a current shortage of fire training facilities in our area, Garden City Hospital is pleased to offer this opportunity to our local fire departments to help better serve our communities,” says Roger Dyjak, Garden City Hospital EMS Liaison .
Please note: This is not a real emergency. All action at the Garden City Hospital Officentre East building on August 18 is for training purposes only.
